ABOUT DEBORAH WILLCOCKS FLORAL DESIGN
Deborah has always had an interest in flowers and design. This ranged from dressing the house and table at Christmas, to visiting the Hong Kong Flower Market, to decorating the officers mess, whilst serving in the Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corp.
However, her serious interest in all aspects of floristry started 16 years ago whilst planning her own wedding. Having thoroughly enjoyed the planning and creation of her wedding flowers, Deborah enrolled at Pencoed College, near Cardiff, to study City and Guilds in Floristry.
As a qualified Nurse and with a young daughter, it was unfortunately not the right time for a change of career. However, 2 years later when Deborah was in between nursing jobs, Deborah was able to gain 10 months invaluable experience, working for a busy well established florist in Tenby, Pembrokeshire.
Despite returning to nursing, Deborah's interest in and love of floristry continued, as Deborah created floral arrangements for friends, family and flower festivals.
A life changing event at the beginning of 2014 led Deborah to re-evaluate her career and the decision was made to become a full time florist.
In order to enhance her skills further, Deborah attended an intensive 2 week Business of Floristry course at the internationally renowned Judith Blacklock School of Flowers, in Knightsbridge, where Deborah received instruction from some of London's top florists including Judith Blacklock, Dawn Jennings, Lynne Dallas and Larry Walsh.
Working from her studio at 40 Main Street, Pembroke, Deborah's reputation for providing exceptional bespoke floristry, throughout Pembrokeshire, continues to grow. Deborah now regularly provides flowers for many of the counties corporate businesses, alongside her loyal day to day customers.
Deborah's philosophy is to always provide excellent customer service, whilst designing professional and beautiful floral creations.
